We strive to provide the best quality feeds and nutritional supplements for thoroughbred racehorses currently available on the market. I do a lot of research to stay on top of every new breakthrough in nutrition and provides each and every horse with exactly what it needs to be the best it can be.
Preventative maintenance is a very important part of keeping your horse healthy and keeping vet bills to a minimum. Every horse is individually analyzed on a daily basis to determine what method of treatment for their body, legs, and feet would best suit their need for that particular training day.
Most therapeutic treatments such as infrared blanket treatments, low frequency ultra sound, cold laser, and centurion foot pad treatments areincluded in your training fees, also know as a day rate. The only other bill you should incur would be a month farrier bill and your vet bill.
The Keen Stable also provides experienced grooms, exercise riders, and barn foremen to ensure the best of care to all of the horses in the stable. Owners are not only welcomed but encouraged to visit the stable and their horses oftern. The attention to detail and care of the horses will be obvious when you come for a visit to the stable.

Daily Training Rate
Our training rate will change depending on which state we are racing in and the cost to care for your horses. We understand many people feel that a day rate should be based on the purse structure for the track in which you a racing. We feel it needs to be based on what it cost to care for your horse. We don't cut corners so our rate may be a few dollars higher than what most Texans are used to paying and a little less than what Gulfstream Park owners are used to. Horses receive the same outstanding care regardless of the purses they are running for.
Daily training rate for Retama Park is $60
Daily training rate for Gulfstream Park is $75

Learning to Pony
Learning The Right Way
Horses Need The Basics
Young horses at Keen Farms are taught all the basics, not just how to go around the racetrack. What a developing horse learns in his first few months of training will affect him the rest of his racing career as well as his life after racing. We believe it is extremely important to teach all the basic skills to a young horse and to teach them to respect their handlers and grooms at the same time. These horses are athletes and need gentle discipline and guidance to be successful.
