Dallas and Donna Keen attend many sales and are available for pre-sale evaluations upon request. Evaluations are hands on and horses are thoroughly checked for lameness and conformation issues that may keep a horse from being competitive.
The two highest money earning horses from the 2010 Keeneland Fall Sale were evaluated and recommended for purchase to owners Ian Yarnot and Brent Gasaway.
Unbridled's Heart and Future Covenant have both won races and placed in stake races in the Dallas Keen stable since being purchased.
UNBRIDLED'S HEART
Unbridled's Heart was originally purchased as a yearling for $1,000,000. After only racing 6 times as a 5 year old his connections sold him through the Keeneland Fall Sale. Since his purchase for $35,000 he has won twice and ran third in the Dallas Turf Cup with over $74,000 in earnings.
FUTURE COVENANT
Future Covenant nearly paid for himself 18 days after being purchased from the 2010 Keeneland Fall Sale by winning his first level allowance at the Fair Grounds Race Course. 17 days after his win he did pay his new owners back by running second in another allowance race. His earnings since coming to the Keen Stable are over $51,000.
Congratulations to owners Ian Yarnot and Brent Gasaway on your sale purchases.
We welcome all owners to visit with us presale and will be happy to answer any questions you have concerning conformation or pedigree. If you are unable to attend the sale we will contact you to discuss your personal evaluation and help your make your purchase by phone.
There will be no evaluation fee for any horse purchased that is placed with Dallas Keen for training, mare care, or breaking. A $250 evaluation fee or 5%, which ever is greater, will be charged for horses not entering the care of Dallas Keen at the time of purchase. The fee is also waived if the young horse is turned out at Keen Farms for lay-up time after the sale and is to be placed in training with Dallas Keen at a later date.
