now has openings for grooms and hotwalkers. Must have experience with thoroughbred racehorses and be able to pass a drug screen and background check. Must be an American citizen or be in this country legally and be able to provide documentation. Training available for anyone with many years of on-hand horse experience.
Possibility for advancement to barn foreman or assistant trainer.
Groom Job Requirements
7 days a week
Work day starts at 5 am
Responsible for care of up to 4 horses including stalls, tacking, bathing, bandaging, race prep, farrier assistance, etc.
Rotating weeks of morning feeding and watering off at night.
Bonuses paid when your horses win.
Usually finished by 11:30am but need to return for evening chores at 3:30, usually for about an hour
Housing provided free of charge at the racetrack.
Hotwalker Job Requirements
7 days a week
Work days starts at 5:30
Responsible for cooling out horses after their morning work and walking them on walk days.
Usually finished by 11 am but you would need to return to work at 3:30pm for evening walking, usually for about one hour
Housing provided free of charge at the racetrack.
Earn extra money for assisting a groom for a race and other chores.
